Remember last summer when zebrahead finally lined up a US tour in support of their new album? and remember when they had to cancel said tour? ok, whatever,
that's fine, health first, I understand, but I also remember being promised a make up tour, and here we are the next summer, with no tour in sight. instead
they're back touring the UK or whatever, and I guess if that's where the money is and that's where the fans actually come out I would do that to,
but it seems kinda weak that us sitting stateside havent had a glimpse of our favorite band since 2006.

I think UC will back me up on this, the guys cant afford to go out and tour the US without the backing and funding of a record label!! UK, Europe and Japan
theyve still got that said backing so they'll get out and make the money whilst they can. Also, I know from going to over 60-75 shows since 1998 in the UK,
the fan base is expanding here finally like the guys deserve!!
I do feel for you guys in the US, as a Brit who's been twice to see em on your shores in the last 2-3 years all I can say is be patient, im sure they'll do as promised and make it up to you guys. You could always come to the UK and see them here of course!! Flights are about $300-$500 return and hotels are dirt cheap!!

what i dont get is why the BAND has never bothered given us any explanation like yours RDJ. i can completely understand if that is the case, but I've
messaged everyone from the band over myspace (piss in the wind) on that subject and got back jack shit in response. i'm a fan, and I've wanted to know
what the hell is up for quite some time now. their support is pretty lacking as of late.
also, even if a full blown US tour is out of the question, i don't get how a show right here in socal could be so difficult. thats probably my ignorance speaking but whatever. |

As far as the band not getting back to people, I know Ed is mega busy with GOMC, Gregg is moving house again, Ben tells me he's been mega busy with stuff too, Matty? UC can answer that one, and Ali, well Ali keeps away from this sort of stuff all the time and keeps himself to himself, but im guessing hes busy. But believe me, If the guys replied to every email they receieved theyd never tour anywhere again ive seen their inboxes when I went out on the road just for 3 days with them WOW!! A one off show believe it or not doesnt make sense financially as far as im aware. Thats why no one offs even in socal!! I know its hard for you guys as theyre from the US and play everywhere - well its getting close!! - but the US lately, again all I can say is be patient and
keep everything crossed for a record label ASAP!! When it happens it'll be worth the wait Im guessing!!

no that does help and it makes more sense now, doesn't mean it doesn't still suck as a fan from the country they're from not even ever getting to
see them play. (i've been a fan of zebrahead since 2004 and have only seen them twice, one I had travel over 8 hours to Pittsburgh for a 25 minute warped
tour set) i guess i can't even say it's entirely their fault either, the whole situation sucks, and we as Americans have such bad taste in music that I
completely understand why they're received much greater everywhere ELSE but here, even though this is supposedly the greatest country on earth, melting pot
of the world or whatever we want to tell ourselves. it's frustrating to be an american fan, especially an east coast american zebrahead fan, but thanks for
making it a bit more understandable.

You see this is the reason I stopped posting on here....assholes that cant see the bigger picture and are that naive to think ZH dont feel bad about whats
going on with the US fans!! If thats the way you feel dude, fuck off and listen to some other shit!! All you are obviously interested in is yourself, think
about it, Zebrahead dont tour the UK/Europe and Japan, they dont make any money, they dont exist fullstop!! Face it, the US for them just isnt good sense at
this time. They get a new label, they get the backing they deserve from them and then from tickets sales from the fans - who by the way, the true ZH fans wont
have forgotten them dick - then they'll be touring their asses off back home.
Man some people.

yea i mean i'm frustrated by the whole situation but i still love the band and because i'm a fan i want to see them again and thus am frustrated, not
calling them sellouts and hatin, that's just really not cool. this topic can be closed if need be, i got the answer i was lookin for and i dont want this
to be a place to hate on the z-head.
also if you think about we're lucky zebrahead has existed for this long, i mean their first album was 1998 and they were around even before that, so you figure 11 years+ of recording history, if all they can afford is to tour the UK and Japan so that they can actually afford to make and record new music, i'm cool with that, i'd love to see them live again but i also love hearing new material every few years. last summer hearing phoenix was a great time and really got me back into the band when i hadnt listened to them for a long time, and sure seeing them at the stone pony at the end of august would have been the icing on the cake if I may be so lame to use that expression but things happen, i'm lookin forward to the covers album! |

YES!!!! THIS is the disfunctional board of doom and gloom I've missed so much over the past year or so! Goddamn, it's like Christmas...
Ok, few things that I know, and that I don't know: 1) Everything I'm about to say is said as a fan...nothing more. I don't know a damn thing, and you people think I'm joking...my super secret contact "close" to the band knows less than you guys do most of the time. That is not an exageration, that is fact. 2) First off, the tour was officially cancled last year because Matty's voice was fucked up from doing 3 back-to-back to back tours. He feels bad. He still feels bad. The guy would play in every city in the world..every night of the week if he could. I'm not really exagerating there either. 3) RDJ is right in terms of label backing. In bad economic times...in between albums (it's not like Phoenix just came out)...it makes ZERO sense to just up and tour the US in front of 300 people a night every night for 6 weeks. I don't drop the "you'll understand when you're older" card on you people often..but trust me...money is nothing to fuck around with...especially when having people like your music is your career. Label's certainly aren't the ONLY way bands go on nationwide tour..hell Jank 1000 drove cross country once, and they were funded by my dad. But it certainly helps get bigger venues and oh yeah...get your music played on radio..etc. 4) Japan has always been the bread and butter. I don't think people understand just how big they are there. I thought I understood, until I heard the stories from the tours etc. There is no contest...plus, they're on a gigantic label over there. If the label wants you to come over and tour...you come over and tour. End of story. That has been the same since the Justin days. 5) I believe they tour Europe because that's where their biggest growth is. Not just that...that's where their biggest growth post-Justin is. That may not seem like a big deal...but it certainly is. It all comes down to guarantees at the venues, consistancy of crowds and things like that. It keeps getting bigger and better each time from what I understand. They'd be fools not to go back there as often as reasonably possible. 6) Touring is hard. It sounds dumb..and sometimes I don't believe it myself, but that grind will absolutely destroy your will to go on. Touring has swallowed up far bigger bands than Zebrahead, and far better circumstances. With that being said, I know for a fact that the guys are looking for ways to make things better and do what's not only best for them, but best for the fans who look forward to seeing them stateside. And to call them sellouts? That's just about the stupidest fuckin thing I've ever read here in my life. I mean seriously...of ALL the bands in ALL the world...to earn THAT little label, is really really really either pissy crybaby stuff...or again, the stupidest fucking thing that has ever been said ever on any board in any language. God it feels good to throw jabs at people again. Happy Tuesday

I know exactly what you mean UC!!! I hate all this negativity, but when I started on here it was a forum for people who loved Zebrahead and wanted to share
their love with others. Lately its been an I want to bitch and moan forum and see if we can get people wound up at the same time. Ive tried to avoid it for the
best part, but that Sucker guy just pissed me off. He aint a fan, he's a dick who obviously cant see the real picture.

I have been a fan since 1999. I live in Grand Junction CO and have seen the band 6 or 7 times and have meet them on many occasions. They are LOYAL to their
fans. Don't blame the band blame the recording industry! They don't get ANY radio play and its FUCKING sad that the best band in the world dose not
have a US label. So I can not fault them for going where they can earn some money to feed their families. Good luck to them and I know that someday they will
be back to rock the states!
