I think you have to be old (Like Ed...not me) to truly appreciate how big of a star that dude was. His music wasn't super duper great...he was a great
performer, but not more spectacular than others. Thing was though..he was absolutely everywhere...in everything. You couldn't go 5 feet anywhere without
hearing a song. You couldn't turn on the TV without seeing a commercial with him. You couldn't go to school without seeing every other kid in a red
jacket and a white glove.
He was a bigger star than Elvis...the Beatles....Obama.....anyone. It's sad he turned into a freaky ass weirdo who liked chmips and amusment park rides...but if anything, people should reflect back and realize that nobody will ever ever be that famous ever again. It was truely amazing if you think about it. |

to truly appreciate maybe but it's not like we don't know he was on and in everything. generally my generation has the shit part of him at the end of
every molesting joke but we still know he was huge! i guess we were lucky to not have to see him on every pepsi commercial or promoting e.t. or have to see the
rest of the kids at school wear jackson shit.

Seeing him live in '92 was actually the best thing ever. I'm gutted he never got to do any of the London comeback shows. RIP.
